The Oscar Rotary Gear Limit switch offers the flexibility of
two gear ratios, which can be different or identical.  This is a popular choice for adding both a
traditional limit switch and an encoder or potentiometer, or just adding more
cams and switches.  The Oscar can be configured
with ratios from 1:1 up to 1550:1 to handle just about any requirement.  A drive gear is used to transfer rotation
from the main shaft to the second shaft. 
Typically, when both shafts are set to the same ratio, the second output
is used for additional switches or a potentiometer.  When the second ratio is set to 1:1 it is
most common to add an encoder to the limit switch.  This gives you positional data from an
encoder and fixed limit points from the switches, all in a single device.  Standard switches are NO/NC with positive opening
NC contacts.  Switches are mechanically rated
for up to 10 million operations.  IP67/IP69K
rated and suitable for temperatures from -40C to +80C; the Oscar is suitable
for just about any environment.

The Oscar is CE marked, UL approved, and for even higher
safety requirements, the Oscar can be BGV C1 certified, and equipped with the
LIMA safety system.  The LIMA system complies
