Additional Information
▼The BASE rotary gear limit switch by TER is an economical choice for controlling the movement of hoists and industrial machines. The shaft is typically attached to the shaft of a sprocket or gear in the drive train and as the BASE shaft turns, it turns the cams inside the switch according to the gear ratio. For 25:1 ratio, the BASE shaft turns 25 rotations for 1 complete rotation of the cams inside. For highest accuracy, select a gear ratio that will use as much of the full 360° rotation of the cams as possible. While the BASE is available in several different IP ratings, Springer Controls only stocks the IP67 versions. The BASE can be configured with gear ratios from 15:1 up to 1500:1, and can be configured with 2, 3 or 4 switches each with NO/NC contacts. Standard shafts are made from AISI430F stainless steel. Housing, and gears are made from techno-polymer. It includes a sintered bronze bushing molded into the plastic for the shaft to spin and provide a seal. Switches are mechanically rated for 1million operations. BASE limit switches are UL listed, CSA certified, and CE marked. We also carry mounting options like woodruff keys, pinions, and flanges. Contact Springer Controls for custom gear ratios and switch configurations.
